Karan Singh created these vector illustrations which offer a new, surreal twist on still life. In the series Milieu, bottles, martini glasses, and vases are formed by bold stripes of color. Forbidden Fruit, meanwhile, shows apples and pears with wavy or polka-dotted patterns. In both series, the background and objects are differentiated not by outline, but by blocks of color and the way lines are shifted. The images use a limited, bright color palette. The result is almost an optical illusion that tricks the eyes. Singh is an illustrator from Australia who has worked with brands such as Nickelodeon and Fast Company.
